Soundview HealthCare Network

Founded in 1978, Soundview Health Care Network (SHCN), our first and flagship health center, was established to provide quality health and social services to individuals regardless of their ability to pay.

Since that time, SHCN has established part-time clinics and programs that augment and enhance our corporate mission. Today, SHCN has a network of four health centers covering the Southeast, Central, and Northeast sections of the Bronx. This network allows us to serve more than 20,000 patients each year with a full range of primary and specialty healthcare services.

As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and an accredited provider through the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Health care Organizations (JCAHO), SHCN plays a vital role in providing health services to the largely poor and medically under served population in the Bronx, many of whom suffer disproportionately from chronic diseases including asthma, heart/disease, diabetes and HIV/AIDS. Many of our patients also face significant cultural, language and economic barriers that have previously prevented them from receiving high-quality primary and specialty care.
