Built in 1904 after the wood station burned to the ground; opened for use April 28, 1904. Very majestic in its day - consisting of passenger and freight stations with covered breezeway and canopy, built of brick with slate roofs, adorned with carved tail ends, and brackets, copper gutters and inside with high ceilings, moldings, tile and terrazzo floors, glazed brick walks and leaded glass windows.
The Delaware Water Gap Station Preservation Partnership
is restoring the station.
"Gateway to the Poconos" - over 500,000 visitors a year came to the area by way of this station. Era of most activity 1910 - 1930.
