The hob’art co-operative gallery is presenting an exhibition, entitled “Markings,” at the Watchung Arts Center, 18 Stirling Road, Watchung, NJ.
Dates of the exhibit are February 2nd to 29th, 2012 and a reception will be held on Sunday, February 5th, from 1-4pm. The Watchung Art Center is located at 18 Stirling Road, Watchung, NJ.
The hob’art co-operative gallery, with membership from Hoboken and the metropolitan area, exists primarily to serve the community by providing a showcase for fine art and in doing so support local artists in their efforts that their “voice” be heard. “A community that supports the arts, is a community that thrives.” (quote by Lynne Grasz, President of the Edgewater Arts Council.)
Artwork by the members include Mike Lindwasser‘s and Tom Egan markings on night photographs. Ann Kinney, Pauline Chernichaw, and Don Sichler captured marks in sunlit exteriors, while Starr Tucker-Ortega used light to leave trails of spaces on a photogram. Stan Lindwasser and Kim DeAngelo painted on canvas, Liz Cohen combined paint and collage on paper, Ibou Ndoye painted on the reverse side of glass, Abby Levine painted her wooden sculpture and Leslie Rubman Xeroxed a painted and collaged image. Additional artworks include an assemblage by Jodi Zulueta, a dry point etching by Constance Ftera, a wood carving by Geraldine Anderson Gaines and Prismacolor pencil on board by Gailene Saint Amand.
