FLINTface Bio:
FLINTface has created a distinct stylized sound, fusing the straightforward ethos of grunge, with rhythmic crowd pleasing funk. It's a style and genre in his live performances that his fans have dubbed "GRUNK." FLINTface began building a reputation for high - energy, inspired performances in the Lehigh Valley while delivering a provocative message that speaks from the heart about personal struggles and hope. Joe Scorsone aka FLINTface grew up in a "blue collar" community in West Philadelphia. His parents were both pastors of a Pentecostal inner city church. When FLINTface was eight years old, he started playing drums to gospel music in order to pass the time and take his mind off his own issues, primarily in that, as a young boy, FLINTface was sexually abused. This abuse dovetailed into his teen years as he struggled with poor self-image, depression and suicide. It was from these dark times that FLINTface was able to rise above his struggles and channel his energy into music. Upon relocating to Kresgeville, PA in 2001, FLINTface seized the opportunity for a fresh start. Armed with an eclectic musical background bridging from Gospel to Death Metal, FLINTface hit the local bar scene to develop his skills and stage presentation. Blending a hybrid of Urban/Pop and Metal, he quickly began building a reputation for his high energy performances. In his dual role as lead vocalist/drummer, he incorporates everything from saw blades and a blindfold, to pop-lock dancers. At times in an effort to further connect with the audience, he invites them to surround him on the stage during his performances. Even though the name FLINTface is a biblical reference ("Don't be ashamed or confused but set your face like a FLINT and don't be moved"), the music doesn't preach or lecture. FLINTface is an artist who has compassion for troubled souls, he delivers a message that speaks from his heart and addresses his own personal struggles… FLINTface always treats his fans as family and as a part of his life. His message is one of hope - for both those who are troubled, as well as for those around them. That message - "Never give up because you're never alone" - is one we all can believe in. Make Amends, is the first full length release by FLINTface which chronicles his struggles to overcome his own personal hardships while offering this message of hope to others. In the single "Taking Names" FLINTface emphasizes this recurring theme - "FLINTface represents those that have been through the storm-abused, battered, and worn, and even though I may not see what you've been through, I guarantee, I walked a million miles in your shoes".
