New Beginnings Performing Arts Studio

The New Beginnings Performing Arts Studio is committed to its mission to expose children and young adults to life experiences through the performing arts. The founder and artistic director Kyra Johnson, MSed, instructors and staff share a passion for community upliftment by utilizing their gifts and talents to instill skill, technique and development for adulthood. The staff are Alvin Ailey, Ballet National de Cote D’Ivoire,, and Dance Theatre of Harlem trained instructors. They have performed nationally and abroad with companies such as Kazuko Hiryabiyashi (ballet), M’bembe (African), have toured with artists such as Mary J . Blige and B2K, and have recently danced in movies such as Step Up 3D.

Our program is uniquely designed to provide students with the opportunity to build self-esteem, self-confidence, and become creative beings. By offering a safe environment, students have the opportunity to grow, learn, succeed, and build new friendships. We commit ourselves to encouraging each student to explore the full range of his or her artistic abilities. Come join our family, and have a new beginning!
