Maestro Frederick Renz takes his cue from a favorite baroque practice of titling dance movements, each depicting couleur locale, to form a suite. Georg Philipp Telemann’s fanciful, programmatic titles like “Les Moscovites,” “Les Suisses,” “Les Portugais” serve as points of departure, to introduce Swedish, Bohemian, and Spanish composers of the 17th- and 18th-centuries. Early Music New YORK’s deft chamber orchestra evokes a resounding bazaar of diverse ‘local colors.’
