New Mom UES Luncheon: Enhancing Early Development Through Play

Come have lunch with the therapists from Jumping Jax Speech, Physical and Occupational Therapy, and learn simple and fun activities to do at home with your children to promote overall development.
Area of focus will include fine motor skills (small muscles of the hand), gross motor skills (larger muscles of the body) as well as a discussion of speech and language milestones through the first year of life. Our therapists will discuss ways in which to promote overall development, including proper positioning and physical techniques to encourage achievement of the motor milestones necessary to facilitate early communication skills such as shared attention, turn taking, eye contact and play skills.
Furthermore, we will discuss popular commercial toys and explain how they can be used to promote overall development. Each mom will leave with a host of activities and ideas that are easy to do at home with your children of all ages.
