Algorithms, which are usually associated with complex mathematics and intricate coding, are in fact simple and hugely useful. In their simplest form, algorithms can be thought of as the systematization of any process. Any business, from finance to fashion, is organized and operates through a set of principals that can be defined and, to a certain extent, automated by a computerized algorithm. This class will make that process accessible to anyone. In this session we'll explore the 'right' and 'wrong' ways to think about algorithms and we'll introduce case studies of 'algoithmic thinking' across a broad range of businesses. Students will leave this class comfortable with algorithms and with an ability to apply the concepts discussed to their businesses.
