Alana Zonan Aka Rue is one of the fresh voices on the New York City spoken word poetry scene. Born and raised in the greater NY area, with a Bfa from the University of Michigan, she has been writing since the age of 11. Her major influences are family, Judaic culture, and what she considers the "old NYC" she missed out on; Hip-Hop rhythms and Rock & Roll 'tude fuel her work. She aspires to be in the moment, stay open-minded and continue to affect and be affected by all people who live to create.
Katiuska Tahiri Herrand Aka The Renaissance Woman is one of the fast-rising voices on the New York City spoken word poetry scene. Her goal: to spark social transformation through the power and validity of words. Performing as The Renaissance Woman, the title is meant to suggest a declaration of feminist ideals, new wave thoughts of revolution, and a new appreciation for the female experience. She writes poetry in an effort to redefine the world's understanding and perception of women, minorities, and those of varying orientations, believing in the power of change and persuasion.
