Cole Porter The 2012 Broadway Concert

The legendary Cole Porter will be the subject of this year's Broadway Concert on February 29th narrated by Michael Presser of the theatre group Inside Broadway. Mr. Presser will once again provide an informative and entertaining narration on the colorful and fabulous life of one of Broadway's most influential composers- his big hit tunes for the theatre and Hollywood movies, his extravagant and gay life style and his tragic accident and final years.
We will hear a selection of music from Kiss Me, Kate, Any-Thing Goes, Can-Can, Silk Stockings, High
Society, The Gay Divorcee, Born To Dance and such Por-ter hits as "You're the Top", "I Get A Kick Out of You", "I've Got You Under My Skin", "Begin the Beguine", "Just One of Those Things" and even "Brush Up Your Shakespeare". It's promising to be another tuneful and fascinating Broadway concert, and not to be missed.
The event will be hosted at The Liederkranz Foundation, housed in an historic building on East 87th Street, steps from Central Park. The Foundation, founded in 1847, hosts many opera, choral concerts, and recitals throughout the year.
