Montgomery Cemetery was the first public, nonsectarian brial ground in Montgomery County. Begun as a rural landscape cemetery, it is the peaceful repose of the remains of some of the most prominent citizens, veterans and reformers in the county and the nation. From five Civil War generals to many captains of industry, Montgomery Cemetery tells the story of the nation through the lives it represents. Montgomery Cemetery has a park-like atmosphere with lovely natural landscapes over twenty acres.
