Supawna Meadows National Wildlife Refuge

Supawna Meadows National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) is located approximately 35 miles south of Philadelphia Pennsylvania and approximately 10 miles south of Wilmington, Delaware in Pennsville, New Jersey. The refuge area is found along the Delaware River estuary just north of the Salem River in Salem County, NJ. It is part of the larger Cape May National Wildlife Refuge and recognized as wetlands of international importance and an international shorebird reserve. The refuge currently owns approximately 3,000 acres. The tidal marshes that comprise nearly 80 percent of the refuge provide waterfowl with an important feeding and resting area, particularly during the fall and spring migrations.
