Dickens Literary Salon - David Copperfield

Thursday, May 17 6:30p
at Free Library of Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA
Age Suitability: None Specified

Join us for a discussion of Dickens's eighth and most autobiographical novel, originally published as a serial between May 1849 and November 1850.  In a letter to a friend, Dickens declared, "It had perfect possession of me when I wrote it." Indeed, when describing David's childhood, Dickens reveals a unique ability to make the reader see things through the eyes of a child and beautifully captures the spirit of childhood itself.
