Singing City Announces 2012 Prize for Young Composers Winner: Winter Concert highlights area youth choirs with guest host Gwen A

Singing City will present its annual Winter Concert, “From Darkness to Light,” on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 17th & Sansom Streets, Philadelphia. The concert will feature the debut J. Casey Rule, winner of the 2012 Singing City Prize for Young Composers. Guest host for the concert will be Gwen Appling, civil rights activist who was part of the Children's March in Birmingham in May 1963. Tickets are $20; seniors/students/groups of 10 or more are $15.
