Joan Carter is no stranger to making history and overcoming obstacles. She started as an entrepreneur and is now President and co-owner of a private investment firm. In 1986, she was one of the first female members of The Union League of Philadelphia and this past year, she was elected as the club’s first female president in its 148-year history.
