South Philadelphia Tap Room

The South Philadelphia Tap Room is a pretty damned fine establishment, there are 13 taps, local breweries and Belgian imports are strongly featured and back up by an eclectic 100 bottle selection. A long spacious bar with booths, exposed brick and garlands of white fairy lights create it's downright pleasant atmosphere, attracting a hip (but not hipper-than-thou) predominantly twenty-to thirty something crowd. The bar staff is friendly and laid back. But attentive. To describe SPTR in a nutshell would be to call it your favorite neighborhood hangout and a high-quality beer joint wrapped together. With a couple of TVs, a seriously interesting menu, a down-to-earth urban tavern environment, and great beers from both the local and the world scenes, you can start to understand why SPTR is getting such rave reviews...
