The Bell and Barter Theater

The Bell & Barter Theater and Cultural Art Center is a not-for-profit corporation started a mere 35 years ago (1972).The Bell & Barter did some of the most amazing and creative original works for the stage. For the next twelve (12) years, the theater flourished, bringing great applause from their audiences. But the building fell into dis-repair. Then along came a talented and most energetic personality, Bud Masters. A life time resident of both Morris County and New York City. Bud added life to this building with a lot of cosmetic surgery as well as a property face lift, that encompassed five years. What was originally a church built in the 1800's, has now become the town of Rockaway Borough's new shining star. Along with starting out as a children's theater, Bud’s hopes include future offerings of many excellent art programs.
