In 1882, R.L. Priester laid the cornerstone for the building at 103 E Reliance Road, thus starting the story of the Reliance Inn. Generations of families and friends have long enjoyed making lasting memories here at the Reliance Inn. Known as 'The place to eat' back in the 1960's through the mid 1980's, Frank Novak owned and operated Ye Old Reliance Inn. Whether sharing a local favorite, one of Frank's famous cheese steaks, with a high school sweetheart, or popping open a bottle of champagne to celebrate an engagement dinner, the Reliance Inn remained a first choice for making memories to last a lifetime. A special chapter in the story of the Reliance Inn came to a close when Frank retired and sold the business in the mid 1980's. After two decades of transition, Vickie Landis acquired the property and totally renovated the Inn. Special features, such as the copper ceiling in the bar, were carefully selected to help bring back a traditional flavor to the community hot spot. On April 12th, 2006, the doors of the Reliance were again opened to the public. The Reliance Inn is alive again and flourishing under new management. Vickie, along with her husband James A. 'Tony' Rentsel welcome the Reliance Inn's Executive Chef, Thomas Pursell. Bringing over 30 years of restaurant expertise to the table, Thom and our team of dedicated staff are committed to serving memorable richness with every dining experience.
